Valley Women's Breakfast
Valley Women breakfast with guest speaker Amy Whitfield, Mom to two teenagers, and Executive Director of Communications at the Summit church. Amy is passionate about growth and development of Christian women and loves stories. She will use stories to share with us how our spiritual practices are an invitation to the Spirit to help us in whatever stage of life we are in to have a deeper and more fruitful walk with Jesus. We will also have worship, testimony, and fellowship. All are welcome!
Women's Bible Study - Take Courage
Do you ever feel like the happy ending of your story is a million miles away?
Then you know how the Jewish people felt when they returned to their wrecked land after exile and began rebuilding the temple. They were distracted, discouraged, and ready to throw in the towel. But the prophet Haggai reminded them they could find courage in the God who had never left them.
Sometimes the landscapes of our lives feel wrecked, with our hope and purpose in shambles. We too get distracted and discouraged. However, God’s presence and promises give us courage to press on and trust Him with our story.
In this 7-session study on the book of Haggai with Jennifer Rothschild, learn to walk confidently in your calling, stay motivated despite opposition, and courageously invest your life in God’s purposes, trusting Him for results you may never see in this lifetime.
Ash Wednesday
The season of Lent starts on Wednesday, March 5th. This day is known as Ash Wednesday and is a day of repentance, when we confess our sins and profess our devotion to God.
We would like to welcome you to join us for service on that day, so that you can be marked with the sign of the cross as a reminder of Christ's sacrifice. We will be hosting a service at 6:30 AM and 5:30 PM.

College Student Welcome Back Lunch
What could be better than free food? Free food and community! If you are college-aged, come for our Welcome Back College Lunch after second service on February 2nd. It will be a great time to connect, meet new people, and learn how you can be better equipped in your walk with Christ!

Women's Bible Study - Luke in the Land
Join us for a women's Bible study through Luke! We will be going through Kristi McLelland's book, Luke in the Land. Over 7 sessions, challenge the way you read the accounts of Jesus through teaching videos that take you to locations throughout Israel.
Make sure to purchase the book in advance. Childcare will be provided if you register, so make sure to sign up!
Christmas Cleanup
We will be taking down and putting away the Christmas trees and decorations and need some strong and willing helpers. Please register to come help out as we close out our Christmas season.
Christmas Eve Service
You're invited to our Christmas Eve service!
We will have a short, community service with everyone in the sanctuary (kids included!) starting at 5:30. All are welcome as we celebrate the birth of Jesus with singing and scripture.
To switch things up this year, we will have a dessert and beverage bar after service. Bring your best holiday dessert and enjoy a time of fellowship, complete with hot chocolate!
VBC Kids: Christmas Craft & Cookie Celebration
Join us for a morning of Christmas cheer and creativity at our VBC Kids Christmas Craft Day! Bring your family to make kid-friendly Christmas ornaments that will fill your home with joy and anticipation for Christ's birth. We invite you to bring your favorite Christmas cookies to share and enjoy alongside our hot chocolate bar! This event is open to the kids ages 1-11 throughout the community, so invite your friends and neighbors!
Christmas Decorating
Tis the season! One large element of our worship is allowing beauty to point us to Christ. During this season, we would like to invite you to join us in decorating the church for Christmas.
We are looking for volunteers to help with putting up the heavy trees and reaching the high spots with ladders. Special bonus if you wear festive clothing!
Make sure to let us know you're coming by registering. We would love to have many hands involved in making the church beautiful for the holiday season.
Thanksgiving celebration
The event is intended to celebrate Thanksgiving with the church family. We will enjoy a meal together at 1:00 and fellowship to follow. The meal will be a potluck, so please register and indicate what you plan to bring! Feel free to contact Katie Alen at alen.katie@gmail.com for more info.
VBC College Worship Night
Hey students from NRCC, Tech, and RU! You're invited to a special night of worship just for you. Join us for an evening of music, prayer, and community as we come together to lift our voices in praise. It's a great opportunity to connect with other students and grow in faith. We can't wait to see you there!

It's time for our Fall Member Meeting! Members, mark your calendars for a time of food, fellowship, and fun!

Parent's Night Out
VBC wants to care for families and give them a chance to connect with each other! Parent's Night Out is an opportunity for parents to rest, engage with the community, or maybe have a date night!
We will provide free babysitting at VBC and dinner for the kids to support parents with a night off! Parent's Night Out is November 1st from 5pm-8pm! Register on Church Center!

Baptism Class
Baptism is one of our favorite cultural rhythms at VBC. If you have not yet been baptized or would like more information about baptism, please sign up for the class!
Class will be two sessions, one on October 27th and one on November 3rd. Baptism service will be on November 10th.
VBC Kids Volunteer Training
If you are part of the VBC Kids ministry team, or curious about what it might like to serve with the children's ministry, we have an event coming up that will help you see the vision of equipping the next generation at VBC to walk with Jesus. We're holding a training on October 19th from 10am-12am where we will cover essential material to help you grow in confidence to serve VBC Kids. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just interested in applying to join the team, this training is for you! Child care will be provided. Plus we will have coffee and brunch!

VBC Fundraising Yardsale & Market
For those who still wish to give, we will be hosting a VBC Fundraising Yardsale & Market on September 21st from 11am - 2pm. There are a few ways that you can offer your support:
1) Donate items: This market will include donated items for us to sell. If you have anything that you would like to contribute, you can drop it off at the church on September 21st at 10:00am. VBC volunteers will collect items on the day of the market and price them. Please mark any large or high-value items with a suggested price. Since we won't have space or staff to store items, any items that are not sold will need to be taken back at 2pm when the market closes.
2) Volunteer your time: We will need volunteers to help set up the market, volunteers to collect donations, and volunteers to help sell items.
3) Come to the market to shop for items! Make sure to come out on September 21st to purchase items and raise funds for VBC. Just imagine how many cool things the members of our congregation might bring. We will also have food trucks and refreshments for sale, so even if you don't purchase, come out to build community.
God has so graciously blessed this project already, and we also want to make space for everyone to contribute in the way that God is calling them. We can't wait to break ground on this construction project...and we can't wait to see you on the 21st!!!
Beholding the Great I Am
VBC Women, our retreat is happening September 13th and 14th: Beholding the Great I AM.
We will have teaching, sharing, fun, and good food! Come ready for deeper discipleship, to draw closer to Christ and strengthen our community as women within the church! Friday night and all day Saturday - all meals are included in your registration fee.
We will have limited childcare options available for those who need it, so please indicate that on your registration form. Additionally, infants are welcome and we will have the nursing room available.
Registration is open and if you sign up before 8/14 you get the early bird discount! Students use the code STUDENT for an even bigger discount! And if the price is what's deterring you please reach out for the scholarships we have available. We can't wait to spend time together!

Annual Budget Q&A
In anticipation of our annual budget vote, we will be hosting a Q&A session. This will allow our members to submit questions or clarification needs after they have reviewed the budget. Please remember, all quesitons should be addressed before the member meeting on July 28th!
We will have a couple of ways to ask questions. Send them to sam@vbcradford.com or elders@vbcradford.com, and we will have a Q&A time on Wednesday July 24th at 7PM in the Fellowship hall.

Albania Trip
This year, we are planning to visit our good friends, Kejdis and Rudina to help run an English Language Camp in Albania. The dates of the trip are leaving on July 19 and returning late on July 28.
Please pray for our team as they travel and minister that the Lord would provide for all their needs.

For the service, please make sure to bring your own chairs. We will also have a potluck after the baptisms. VBC will provide the meat and drinks, so just bring a side to share!
